do i have a locking rear diff?

Whilst on the level 1 day at Eastnor, i was impressed with the rear diff lock kicking in to assist in scrambling over the terrain. I know this is a factory fit option, but, on my 4 x 4 info on the sat nav screen, it shows 2 green padlocks...is this standard s/w display or do I have a 2nd rear diff and without going to off road extremes to test , how do i know if a rear diff lock is actually fitted as this is my replacement car and i didnt create the spec?

Standard display I am afraid Crying or Very sad I have not got a rear locker, but the icon is still there.

Saying that, I have never felt like the car needs it, I never got stuck yet.

Rock crawl and a bit of gravel should lock it up.

Another way is to get under the rear diff and have a look at the top of the diff housing and you will see a solenoid type of arrangement and this is part of the diff lock mechanism.

I asked my dealer the same question because I don't even have the screen and I wanted to know I had the diff lock which was optioned in the first place.

If your not sure then ask the dealer's service centre to prove to you that you have the diff lock by showing you one with and one with out. You can get under the D3 in the normal height setting unless your a really big bloke

Simple to test.

Just lift one wheel (as you would replace a flat tire)
Slowly release the clutch, if the car wants to move forward, you have a locker

You could test even more by liften front left and rear right
