You can have a jolly good time on road tyres, no RAI and no Mantec.
Its all peace of mind stuff mate... apart from the tyres which are dead useful.

Well the tyres are a sore subject. I bought my late 2005 HSE in April this year after a long ownership of my beloved Alvestone red TD5. Before collecting the HSE I insisted the tyres were changed, they refused. So I insisted on a new MOT, they did it and it failed on tyres .
I asked for a compromise tyre between road and mud, they said no and put on standard goodyears
Now since April I have only done 1200 miles, so when worn, year 2015 I will change them.

Don't forget to take a small paint brush about 5mm wide and some galv paint to touch up the exposed metal on the hole edges. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I was thinking of silicone (clear). I also have some Black Gutter mastic. Designed to keep water out and stay flexible. Is that a better idea. Colour dont matter as its hidden I guess.
Is it you who's gonna do the deed on the HSE?

No not me I will be in Barnsley that night I am sure all will be well I expect! well hope so The best advice I can give you is hand the keys to Slimer and go and sit in the bar with your back to the car park. Two things will then happen.
1 After about 20 minutes you will be handed your keys back and everyone will be smiling.
2 After about 30 minutes you will turn round and the car park will be deserted. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
