Been off roading for pleasure & work for many a year now and have trashed my 2nd only tyre.... On an ornamental rock in a hotel carpark!!! One rock in the carpark and I manage to tear a 2" hole in the side wall. Was a usher at my mates wedding so in all the gear, not really dressed for getting the airjack out, and had all the reception flowers in the back.
Went to change wheel and collect D3 this morning, all went OK, airjack to the rescue but covered from neck to waist in soot afterwards, it had even blown it through my polo shirt... Think I might try it with the compressor from now on..
Anyway, great weekend and a very happy chum, so all ends well Off Roading is OK.... But I'd rather be Boating!

Jetboil, airjack, gave them the works! Think the Bride was particularly impressed with my orange winch cable... 8) Off Roading is OK.... But I'd rather be Boating!

Are you sure its trashed If the tear runs from bead to tread they may be able to repair it. I have, through my tyre dealer sent several back to Goodyear for repair or wall refurb. Cost £25 per tyre. And the repair actually has a Goodyear stamp vulcanised into the wall over the repair. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for that, the tear is about 1.5" long and runs parallel with the lettering, ie with the circumference of the tyre, not across it, and about dead central in the tyre wall. I'll get my local man to have a look! Cheers Off Roading is OK.... But I'd rather be Boating!
