Heated Seats
Has anyone figured out if all leather D3 seats are prewired with the heating elements? My old D2 with leather was prewired, just a matter of purchasing the pushbuttons for the center console. Thanks.was 00 D2 > then 04 D2 > now 05 LR3

Covered before. Seats are a different part number, so no.

In a similar vein - should the rear heated seats switch off automatically. The handbook seems to suggest no, but the telltale light on mine go off on their own after about 5 mins.

The rear seat heaters should perform the same as the front ones: with the silly timeout behavior, similar to what is used for electric glass defrosters in most vehicles. (I personally think this is a strange design decision, especially in a vehicle that offers zoned climate control.)

The seat heater timeout (and the dual heat level changeover on the front seats) is not just a timer, it is also dependent upon the cabin temperature and the temperature settings of the heater controls
