LR3 / Disco3 in the Sudan? |
|
Does anybody know whether a LR3 would be serviceable in Khartoum? I'm thinking about shipping one there but want to know that I can maintain it once it arrives.
Thanks!

Ford was 'forced' to stop selling Land Rovers in Sudan after a UK newspaper discovered that militias were equipping Defenders with machine guns (Now they just use Toyotas or Nissans - and nobody bats an eyelid).
I'm not sure if the dealership is back in business now that Tata own Land Rover, but I doubt it. Most other mainstream car makers are still there though e.g. Mercedes, Toyota etc.

I'm driving one up from Uganda to Khartoum in a few weeks time. Someone in the British Embassy there told me the LR agent is still in business but not very impressive. My wife saw a LR3/Discovery 3 in Khartoum a few months ago with a local plate so someone else obviously has the same idea!
