Parrot Kit Confused by other posts (UPDATED UNIT INSTALLED)
I have a Parrot 3200 bluetooth kit which I want to connect to the standard stereo in a TDV6 S, this is the Harmon Kardon speaker version with CD changer in.
Havign read lot's of post people seem to be using the Auto Leads sets, which are about £50+ and need some manual wiring still for switched +12V.
On the Parrot site (see link below), they offer a cable for the D3 which seems to be just plug and play and it takes care of power, radio muting etc etc. It costs £20.
Has anybody used this and why would you buy an autoleads one of this works without any mods and costs less than half the price.

Spoke to Parrot and they said to call www.vstore.co.uk and they would be able to supply the parts as they do all the Parrot after sales service etc. In then end I needed 2 cables, which is a direct plug and play including power source.

You can also get a Brondit bracket, but I didn't bother with it.
Installed the MIC and display today, so just need the cables tomorrow to finish the install.

All installed now, cables seem a bit complex for what you actually need. I had to take the ignition switched source from the cigarette lighter but other than that it was plug and play. The interface box fitted down the side of the radio in a void and the mic is by the interior light. The display unit is mounted by the dash clocks and although it looks like it might be in the way, it is a great fit and the cables are easy to hide.

Nice install.....it looks very neat there
When I was installing my 3200LS I thought about sticking installing it there but I found that I couldn't see the screen properly due to the steering wheel (or was it the stalks?)...
How do you find it? Is it easy to see or do you have to move your head to see it clearly?
Cheers,

Ahh...I forget to mention that I also discarded this position because one day I'm hoping to get around to fitting some driving lights and the LR switch would need to go there.
Still....it's worth thinking about 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

Ooops, didn't know the light switch went there.
I was worried about beig able to see the display but it seems fine.
The other option was the Brondit, but it seemed a big bracket for the little display.

Try Dashmount.co.uk, the disco3 mount is on there, smaller and recommended by Parrot for the 3100 & 3200. It fits via the hidded screws for the Stereo so NO screw holes needed in dash. Having mine fitted on Monday, on the lower part of the dash near stereo. I am having the cables taken through the panel near the power/cigar lighter.
Should be a nice install, will post pics when done.

Yo wiggs I assume this is the bracket for your install, thats where mine is going too as I think that bracket is nice n tidy. Where did you feed the cables for the Parrot, just asking cos I dont want to see too much cable, nor do I want holes drilled either.

Mine was for a phone holder.
I just ran the cable downwards and used a couple of those sticky back cable tie holders.
Then put the cable under the side of the center consul ..if that makes sence G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Guys,
I had my Parrot 3200 installed in my D3 in Australia and they did not use any 'adaptor leads'. They wired the audio out of the Parrot to the drivers door speaker.
The problem I have is whenever the Parrot hands back to the stereo (unmutes) I get a really loud noise in the drivers speaker.
I am wondering if this is normal, or due to the way my has been installed ?
Anyone else have a LOUD noise on unmute ?
Thanks,

No noise on mine when it unmutes, it is pretty much a silent transition.

mine is silent and cever as it mutes between the stereo and Satnav, I guess yours has been wired using the speaker as a independant. Nothing wrong with that, but it really is'nt using the capabilites of the Parrot System............tis like having a Disco and not using it offroad
