Leaking sunroof drains-no time to fix properly-Vaseline
Ok this is just a short term fix and I use the work loosely for the dreaded wet carpet, my passenger side drain had failed and after a heavy rain fall my passenger side carpet was soaked through, I simply don’t have the time at the mo to fix so I pulled out the pipe added a bit of hose and ran it into a bottle sitting in the footwell, not pretty but it works as long as you remember to empty said bottle 😂. My drivers side has recently also given up and I ended up with a soaked carpet, due to work commitments I don’t have the time to fix properly just yet but needed a simple solution until I could.
So I decided to open the sunroof, clean the seal on the glass and around the opening, I then applied Vaseline to the seal and closed the roof, I then went round the edge with more Vaseline and cleaned off the excess, this was two weeks ago and their is no water in the bottle and the carpets are bone dry (took ages to dry them out in the first place)
This is not a permanent fix but it will keep the water out until you can fix the problem properly
One last thing remember not to open the roof as this will obviously ruin the seal 😂
If you have wet carpets from the sun roof give this a try costs little in time and money but well worth it in my opinionRange Rover Westminster 4.4 TDV8 what a car
