Hi people - have seen the threads about bling front grilles, but can't find anything about standard.
Anyone had to replace a front grille & know the price?
Have to replace mine (06 D3 Tonga Green) after an event with a suicidal pheasant.

Package arrived safely, so I'm ready to paint and attach
Things I didn't know which others might (but might not)
1. The Grille comes primed - not plain plastic - don't need to buy primer.....
2. LR supply a green oval badge with the grille - don't need to buy that either......
3. The LR standard paint spray comes with a can of clear laquer as well - another expense spared.

Joking aside, are you really going to paint it with a spray can?
You can acheive good results with these, but it's very tricky....I'd be interested to know how you get on and what you do to ensure a good finish 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

With patience small miracles are possible with spray cans.
You need to put in some blocking and buffing time before and after the clearcoat. TDV6

I'll post a report.
Did a fairly good job with the old one, having strapped the broken bits with plastic glue and bits of butter dish
The paint finish was not quite the standard of the rest of the car, but with a dirty great crack in the middle of the grille I wasn't putting much effort into quality.
Generally pleased with the results I get with 1600wat&dry and a little patience, and I do know how complex this surface is so we'll see over the next couple of weeks.....

OK - so I've finally put the new grille on. Tad more buffing at a later date and it'll be perfect.
About 6 man hours work including all the fiddly bits. Actually most of it was fiddly.

probably a bit late regarding this thread but paid €102.50 for a grill for my D3 Last december from a dealer, came primed and got mate of mine in body shop to do spraying part. simple fit after that! 07 Discovery 3 TDV6 Commercial (Java Black) with:

Body shop would always be my preferred option to attain that Finish, I guess if I was unfortunate enough the my newest bestest friend Ken would get a PM
But hats off, the finish (by hand) he has done is tops With a A Bar and Spots fitted you would'nt know the difference
