| Main Stealer Service prices |

I have just been Quoted 643 Squid for a main LR dealer 50k mile service.... 
Same service from my local Vauxhall dealer 199 Squid
why is the LR quote so expensive, what do i get for my money that I don't get elsewhere? the guy told me that it was oil and filters.
I am shocked.
I have a LR Warranty until June, do I lose my warranty if I get it serviced at a non LR Dealership?

1 - ring round Dealers prices vary madly.
2 - You can go to another dealer if they do it to LR spec using LR parts - contact forum member 10forcash (or somethign like that) or your local LR independent.

OK, but do i lose my warranty if I get it serviced at somewhere else than Land Rover?
If not then I will definitely use the cheaper option

I'm pretty sure that due to EU law it is illegal to void a warranty if the servicing has been carried out to the manufacturer's specifications using suitably specced parts/materials. (pretty much what blue_manc said  )
So no....you're not forced to use LR dealers/workshops for any type of servicing, but lots of people do because they like the LR service stamp in the book even though it isn't strictly necessary 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

Block exemption EU rules made it OK to use any VAT registerd garage for servicing, as long as its to manaufactures spec, and not affect your warrenty.

I paid £410 to a LR dealer for a 75k service, but that included clearing some fault codes, and unlocking the FBH (again)
It is now illegal for a main franchised dealer to state that it will affect the warranty if you get a vehicle serviced at I non franchised garage 8)

The only stipulation would be to make sure the garage uses OEM parts, and carries out the work to the manufactorers recommended indicators Never get mad - get even !!
06 D3 now gone to family member and still going strong at 265k
