Wrench is knackered
Was changing my wheels over yesterday (putting on the 18s while getting the MTR's onto my Black rims) and was opening the nuts on the front left wheel when BANG the wrench split . I mean to split from the opening that goes over the nut back to the hinge and is no longer useable. Now I have in the past had to jump up and down on a wrench to get a wheel nut open but I was literally pulling upwards with two hands when it let go. The only time I'd used it before was to take the wheels off to fix the winch and to replace the locking nuts.
Really glad I wasn't in the middle of nowhere . Went our and purchased a heavy duty one from the local motor factors but I am very unimpressed with the quality of this vital tool. Think I'll complain to the stealer tomorrow.1993 Defender 110 300tdi - many mods

Ah you're obviously heavier than me then
Christ man ...get yourself decent equipment like Ken says
keep inside some pipe insulation and it will sit nicely undeneath the 3rd row of seats near the socket to lower the spare wheel, alternatively get the torque wrench as well and both will fit in the tube the torque wrench comes in and can be stored in the same place - that way you have all angles covered (as i now have). A very neat and reassuring solution!
