Guys! This forum has been a fine and sociable place for a long time. There are a heck of a lot of newer members now who must be wondering (in light of some of the past weeks nonsense) what the hell they have stumbled across when compared to our own initial experiences.
People can have differences - we are not all the same, but please think a bit before hitting the reply button. This place isn't a one-to-one scenario and your posts are viewed across many borders - both personal and national.
If I may suggest, disco3.co.uk is not the preserve of a select few. Treat people the way you would like to be treated yourself, and remember that most of the OT stuff is 'banter'. If you take any of it (or yourself) too seriously, you are liable to be messing with your own head.
Read what you like, and ignore what you don't. If you were eavesdropping on a conversation between people you don't know in a pub, would you suddenly chip-in with a remark like 'your discussion is pointless and you should get a life'? No you wouldn't - so why do it here?
By the same token, would you use parochial dialect at an international meeting of minds? No you wouldn't - unless the discussion was about such a topic. Wave whatever flag you care to, but try to type in English with punctuation if possible so that you can be understood by all!
Please guys - enrich this forum as you see fit, but don't drag it down just because you have a chip on your shoulder.
For the record, I can't think of anybody on this forum that I wouldn't welcome at my door. Access to the whisky cabinet may be a different story......
Sorry if this post is a bit , but I'm feeling all grown-up and mature tonight. Normal service will be resumed shortly. The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

I post less & less on this forum nowadays because of some of the vitriolic and quite frankly childish replies to some peoples innocent posts.
The 'Old Coach Road' post & the more recent 'Speed Limiter Removal' post are two that immediately spring to mind as being particularly un-friendly and made me consider removing my disco3 car sticker in protest!
Both these posts were in my opinion both valid & of possible interest to other members which is what this site is all about.
If I can ignore posts that I consider provocative, not of interest or just too stupid to warrant a reply then I'm sure that others can too.
Don't get me wrong, if someone comes on here deliberately trying to wind us all up then they deserved to get flamed!
We are a small community sharing a common interest. You don't need to get peoples backs up just because they don't buy a Land Rover for the same reasons as you do.
Some of the banter on here is priceless & the shared knowlege can prove invaluable.
I enjoy the site for these purposes.
Let's keep it that way please gents and leave the insults and nastiness for the more chavvy car sites!
Sorry for being a bit but I don't want to see a great site spoiled!

Well said DD
But dont forget to mention how good it is to meet up with very sound folk in many different parts , both home and abroad, and how reassuring it is to know that no matter where you are, someone somewhere will lend a hand when the sh t hits the fan
Now, anyone know any good jokes

JMC,
Well played
Things can get tense, but like most have said - lets keep it all in the realms of reality and happy banter.
As a relative 'newbie' It does seem a few posts have gone that little bit too far. I could be guilty of banter but I think most of us would feel a bit bad if we thought we had genuinly upset a fellow forum member.
Had my say now....lets close these comms off and carry on with the good stuff....
Nick D4 HSE....Probably, but not quite decided yet.

Have you noticed that DG isn't taking any prisoners when it comes to cleaning up the posts since
his promotion ........ we need that new approach , I think ?
Let's see a new era. Some folk can't remain civil .

Martin, I Googled Flame-War , but I still don't understand the answers
What does it mean ?
People all have opinions and are free to express them. However, if you can't make your point without offending other people, then don't make it all.
Banter is good - it's an integral part of this site.
Bring back the humour!Too much intellectual firepower can damage your common sense.
