Trouble installing aftermarket radio
Hello folks, like many others here I got tired of the limitations in the low line base unit on my TDV6 S and purchased a nifty 7-inch DVD-DIVX-MP3-rearview-AM-FM-TV-watchamacallit.
The fascia adaptor fits well but the wiring adaptor picture here is giving me troubles...
First off, where I should be getting a steady +12V from the battery, I get a one-second 12V pulse. It's like the car is looking for the factory radio and not turning power on because it doesn't see it. Yes, I did plug in my aftermarket radio and no, the +12V does not come up. Then the ignition wire also doesn't come up when you turn the ignition on.
Last question is on the antenna. It ain't a standard antenna connector. Can anyone suggest an adaptor that allows a standard aftermarket radio to connect to the Land Rover micro connector?
Thanks for any help.

The power to lead on the OEM lead should be alright but make sure you have used the main ground not the diagnostic ground.
I got my adaptor lead for the antenna from www.incarexpress.co.uk
much cheaper and realy fast service; next morning arrival when orderd late evening.
Are you going to put in a steering wheel control adaptor?“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
