| Help - Which tyres to buy |
|
Sorry if this is a duplicated post, first time on here.
I need to replace my two rear tyres - i have had two punctures so the front one have been changed over last couple of months.
I currently have 255/60 R18 V - Pirelli Scorpions.
Do I stick with these or try something else.
I only drive round town - shame on me apparently!

Hi Minicoup,
Welcome to the site - be handy to know the kind of motoring you do and the vehicle spec you have, but here's my view based on what I have:
19" 6 spoke HSE wheels with Pirelli ATR's for daily use - mainly road but also are very capable off road 
18" 5 spkoe SE wheels with General Grabber AT2 for most off-road stuff
Also considering getting a set of 19" wheels with MTRs for more serious off-road stuff to replace the 18" set.
Hope that helps.  LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

I guess that as he has 255/60 R18 V now then hes on 18" rims 
Given your only planning to change 2 wheels I would stick with the same as you have now

What does MTR mean. I only off road when parking on grass verges outside school - eek.
Seriously, I do 90% city and motorway miles.
Is it a general rule to have the same manufacturer of tyre on each wheel.

If it were me I would definitely keep all tyres the same ...so if you only feel you want to replace 2 then it will have to be the scorpions.
If you do want to replace all 4 then there are some other options for the type of driving you do:
Good Year Wrangler 255/60 R18 112V
Michelin Latitude Tour 255/60/18 V rated
MTRs are for tough off-road scenarios ...a bit more than a grass verge

Thanks for advice. Off to find the best price may consider replacing all four next time but as I have an attraction to nails it always seems to be one or two at a time!
