Aftermarket roofmount DVD/TV and SatNav
I know this topic has been covered, but if it helps, I've put pictures of my screen and satnav into my gallery (as I still cant work out how to put them in this post)
Screen is 8", with built in DVD player, TV tuner and FM modulator, and is a creamy grey sort of colour that matches the headling. Its fitted where the alarm ultrasonic unit fits, with this relocated into the screen base.
SatNav also has AV input so that you get DVD output on the nav screen (but not TV)
Relativly easy job in the end. TV ariel is the only thing I still need to improve upon.

Al, dose this not get in the way rather when driving?
It looks good, but it also looks as though it will be in your face a bit when driving as it sits further far ward than most!D5 HSE Waitona Grey 2015

it is slightly further forward than maybe I'd have liked (certainly more forward than the one I had in my D2). It would have been better if the screen pivoted from the other end, but I couldnt find one that contained a DVD player, was the right colour to match the headlining, and had enough room in its base to relocate the alarm gubbins.
As I drive with the seat right back, with the screen open, its just in line with my ear, so still behing my sight line. If anybody had the seat further forward it wouldnt bother them at all.

I'd be rather concerned about what would happen to yoru head if the screen was down and your car was hit hard from the side. Despite weighing as much as a small house, the Disco could still get hit by a truck and that screen would make a rather large dent in your skull I suspect.
Just a (rather sombre) thought

A couple of things. The screen, although in line with me, is about a foot away. I think if I hit it, the mount between the screen and base is quite small (and centred as it swivels) would break as its all plastic from what I can see.
You are right in so much as I dont really want to come into contact with anything, but I think if I get hit hard enough in the side to hit the screen, i'd have more things to be concerned about.

Well I ended up with the same one as Al in the end but I have replaced the light cluster! No cutting holes very strait forward, it dose obstruct the alarm sensors but what little s**t cares if a alarm goes off anyway!

Nice fit Nick,
We went the way that Pelyma went, do got some portable DVD players. I had a hard time convincing SWMBO that an in car player + roof rails and cross bars was a good idea. I didn't have the heart to tell her that I was going to fit them myself!

Duncan, thought you had the HSE which has the roof rails fitted as standard!
You could always borrow my roof bars!
Off to La Plagne Saturday night, could do with a nice dump of snow
