Turbo chip in SA - SPECIAL |
|
Just got off the phone with Elton at Turbochip. I am fitting a freeflow on the TdV6 and was worried about overboosting. Seems a non issue but we got to talking and he mentioned the following specials ...this is today 23 Sept and I don't know for how long but I suggest you drop him tinkle if interested.
Td5 engine flashed for 3G's
TdV6 flashed for 4.5G's
2.4 PUMA with speed limiter removal .. 5G's
Elton is on 083 577 5555 or www.turbochip.co.za
No association with Turbochip or Elton but one happy customer. His service is first class all the way.

Who called me "decent"?
TBH I have heard nothing but compliments about Elton.
Have yet to meet the chap, but hey, there is always space in the market for a guy who backs up his product with good service.
Thanks for the referrals guys
Aubrey, please let us know how the freeflow works out?

Hi Baben as yo know I have been running a free flow now for 25k km. All silencers are out just the cat is still in.
From the single pipe coming from the cat we split into a Y with 2 x 72mm and straight out.
It has a nice tone accelerates a bit faster and the Turbo spins up faster and smoother. White LR3 TDV6 2007

Gents , whats the difference between a freeflow & a performance branded exhaust eg Kahn or the like ?
Silencers removed on the freeflow but not on the performance ( bores increased instead ?)
Do you get that V8 burble sound with freeflow as you do with the Kahn or is it more harsh ?

Cool, then I know what I need to know, thanks.
Richard's sounded great when I heard it, and not harsh at all. Burble kinda describes it.
Iam thinking of using a single pipe though (for air-jack), but not sure the space is available. I want to route it up out of the way at the rear as well. Did search, but can't find anyone who has done this yet?

Aubrey has recently had his done by TNT in Pretoria . (Single pipe , plus freeflow) . Didn't want to to this route just yet because of warranty issues

Thanks Heine, are you Aubrey's secretary now?
Aubrey, are you able to post a couple of pics? I would like to see the routing they used at the rear if possible, before I go speak to them

Baben I had a good look for alternative route and believe me there is not.
The only place to pass the rear axel is under the diff the sides move to much there is cabling above the diff thus under is the only option. The choice is yours be a leftist or a rightist. on where you want to end with a sigle pipe.
My choice was to go two pipes for the air volume and then I also changed from the std 62 +- mm to 74mm.
For the amount of times you will need to block off one pipe I could not see to half the volume output. Yet there are high temp ball valves available that you could mount in one pipe ? White LR3 TDV6 2007

OK, so the "standard" routing is about all that's practical then.
Ball valve is one way I suppose, but as you say, for the amount of times you actually need it, whats the point?
Seeing as my zorst is cracked and buckled, I might have to do the mod.....
By the way, is there a reason you left the CAT in?

Hes for one it is a silencer with low resistance, and keeping the cat in is my contribution to the environment White LR3 TDV6 2007
