Running 35mm cables through chassis
I looking at running the above cables from my Aux battery to the rear of the D3, is there a recognised route? I've done a search but cant find this being mentioned before. Anybody out there done it?Club Exped trailer

Anyway I have run mine through the unused clutch mechanism hole. Under the carpet and trim to the right of the drivers foot well, then remove the plastic trim that runs across both the front and rear door entrances. The bit that covers the edge of the carpet and door seal. The cables will fit under the carpet and door seal. There are other cables running in this area. Then up under the carpet at the front or the rear wheel arch. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I have a 8mm cable in that spot from my DBS. I might run it down the left hand side if there is no route underneath.
Yes get them boxes sorted, they look pretty good and ideal for what we want them for.Club Exped trailer

If by 35mm cable you mean the heavy guage battery / jump lead guage then you won't get it through the inside or under trim - it is too thick and inflexible.
I routed similar cable for battery charging and jump leads / compressor etc from the tow hitch to the aux. bat.
First of all I dropped the spare wheel out.
Then either side of the recovery hook there is a hole through the rear x-member. Too narrow for both cables so I put one cable through each. It was a tight fit but perfectly possible. No rubbbing should mean that it will not damage the insulation but something I shall be regularly checking.
From here I went down the right of the vehicle (UK drivers side).
Roughly run between the chasis rail and the sill. There are lots of places to cable tie.
Now the final bit I haven't completed as I ran out of time (I currently have a bird's nest of cables tucked up underneath!).
(From the top) I intend to go forward from the aux battery box and then down behind the radiator.
In my vehicle (V8 petrol) that keeps the cable away from the exhaust manifold and engine block. It will then run along the chasis rail.
I have a 175 Amp Andersen connector as a terminator at the rear. There is an inline Megafuse on the positive and I have gone right back to the battery with the earth / negative. Don't ask why - I'm just told this is best.
Inside the vehicle I have a lighter guage cable ran beneath the trim as described earlier - this goes to a permanent live Engel socket in the rear for a fridge / freezer.
Don't forget to put the spare back in when you're done. I ran mine over.
