Stratstone Service cost £527 for 3rd year/ 45k miles |
|
Stratstone phoned/e-mailed/ texted and wanted £527 for the 3rd year / 45k miles service.
So I phoned Team Valley service center Gateshead and they said £233 and £42 for the MOT.
Stratstone have been on the phone and said they will price match the £233.
But I've told them it's to late, I don't like the fact they were £300 over in the first place, and I always get good service from Team Valley Landrover.
How can they drop this much? Arctic Frost Discovery 3 TDV6 SE, Active Rear Diff, Adaptive Head Lights, Tow Pack, Ebony Leather, Roof Rails, Mantec Guard. Tasmod Stainless Sill plates. Grabber AT's. Home made mud flaps. Side Steps back on until the next time.

Stratstone, in my experience of them in Edinburgh have adopted this structure on the back of a premium brand, so premium prices.
Shocking that they are so far out in the first place then drop that much. You done the right thing in saying poke it !!

Chesters, I assume it was Stratstone Newcastle that called you.
In June I got quotes from both Stratstone Durham and Newcastle - both well over what Team Valley quoted and at that time niether would price match.
I will not be using either now - Team Valley all the time

Stratstone here tried the same thing, then came up with something they call the 189 service, which for £189 you get a "service" which is oil and filter changes, service light reset, service book stamped (which makes it look like full dealer service history), but nothing else "changed" automatically. They apparently inform you of what needs replacing, and you choose. Still a bit sceptical myself.

IMH experience, Stratstone dealers should be paying D3 owners for the priviledge of servicing their vehicles, and allowing their staff to gain the valuable experience in trying(not very hard), and failing to rectify defects, in particular, on new vehicles supplied by them....
