NOTEPAD
Hi,
Tried the voice recognition system this morning. It was no good with kids in the car, so obviously background noise is fatal to the listening software.
Anyway, sans offspring I could get Navigation & CD accepting commands, but not "Notepad".
Is this an option not in my UK-supplied HSE, or am just not saying it right? Do I need to insert the London accent - "No'pad", rather than my antipodean twang. I would assume not - the guy's voice is rather posh.

Voice chg
OK, you probably guessed my next question already...
How do you chg the Voice Recon guy to a sheila, without affecting the Satnav?
I don't recall reading this in the manual - just instruction on the Satnav setting.

.. going off at a tangent .. on my TomTom I'm learning Russian / French and Spanish via the additional voice downloadables . Well, road directions anyway. Already downloaded the German voice awhile ago, and the femail voice saying "TURN LEFT AT ZEE 300 METRES MARK" is by far the most agressive. Best one to listen to though is the French lady .................Somewhere in-between my old D3 and what's to come next .........

Yes, but it can't do John Cleese as well as Tom Tom. I got the wife a TT navigator for christmas, and there are some pretty interesting things available - for a small fee!
I can't wait for the Ozzy Osbourne voice!

Very important to speak to the girls voice in a calm and clear way. If you don't the car will refuse to do anything until you apologise.Loving the power of the TDV8!
