Snorkel At Last
Just fitted my snorkel. Straight forward installation, had to drill 4 holes altogether, 2 above the air intake in the wing 9mm and 1 hole in the top of the windscreen pillar needed to be enlarged from 7mm to 9mm. Also had to drill a 16mm hole in the black plastic trim that runs up the pillar.
Only driven from my workshop back home about 1 mile (late for tea oops), so I can’t comment on noise or effect on power at the moment.
Check my gallery for pics as I aint worked out how to post pics here. YetIn the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

snorkel man!
Just curious how you like the snorkel so far and why you need it? Never had one, but have heard that electronics will go out prior to water in the intake?
The LR/Mantec snorkel is designed primarily to reduce dust intake rather than to increase wading depth. There's various breathers and electrics that'll need taking into consideration too if you're intending on lots of time in the water The End

How do you like the ride and noise of MTR's?
Roof Rack noise and gas mileage reduction?
candid thoughts?
carl
As mentioned above I have not gone far yet with the snorkel.
I own a company that repairs huge water storage tanks for fire sprinkler systems, basically life safety. I get called out on a regular basis when a tank fails or is damaged. When I get the call I have to respond. The place where I live is a very rural area and we are surrounded by rivers, when these rivers are in flood and burst their banks I’m trapped, well I would be in a normal vehicle. My previous vehicles, all discoveries, would get through the floods up to bonnet height no problem as do our vans. (The bow wave thing ect). I have a concern that the position of the air intake is not suited for these conditions. It may be in a perfect place but I don’t want to find out the hard way. So I have fitted a snorkel.
MTR’s Average ride, I got 36000 miles out of a set and they still have 6mm average tread left on them. In fact they are going on ebay at the end of this week unless any one wants to grab them. They are very noisy.
I have just been to Courchevel in France snowboarding with 6 boards and kit for 6 on the roof rack and guess what? 6 of us in the car a 2000 mile round rrip. MPG dropped from 26mpg standard to 20.8mpg I tried to maintain an average speed of about 90 so with all the drag I had I’m very happy with the mpg. I did the same run in March last year and only got 16mpg prior to the J&E up-grade.In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Guys,
I got a confirmation from Safari 4x4 today that the D3 snorkel for the TDV6 will be available within the month. It is in prerelease now.
I couldn't get pricing or a picture from the Marketing Mgr
I asked about accessories to mount it and it comes with everything like current snorkels including detailed instructions. That probably means drilling holes
He couldn't confirm anything about wind noise either.
I'll let you know more when I find out.
