What have we missed on our D3's

A Neutral After an absence (of perhaps not too long), I am amazed to see nothing have changed on the site. Confused Did we not have meaningful discussions late at night on topics such as suspension rods, service in ZA, terrible tires Evil or Very Mad and vehicles breaking down in impossible places? Now that our vehicles (or the refurbished ones with extensive replacement parts , save for the driver), have done 100 000's of km under "severe" conditions in Africa, we have nothing to say to each other? !!! Shocked Where are the S'Africans with a passion for real problem solving? And the usual interesting feedback and misinterpreted banter? I see we are remapping and torqued up!
I would to hear the rest are enjoying and loving their D3's after seven years ... trips into the bush or blinging it up? Thumbs Up

After the Johnson Rods was installed on mine in 2009 the ground clearance issue did go away! The weight on a fully laden D3 with coils is off course not easily resolved - are there "expedition" coils on the market like Old Man Emu to fix this? Thumbs Up
Are the D4 XS's on 18 or 19 inch rims? Is the XS the commercial version of the D4?

Another reason why I'm keeping my D3 untill kids school money is spent, XS is 5 seated , smaler brakes therfore 18" wheel, so called rugged version@ R600000 get real LR, more here: http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic93877.html

Aftermarket spring lifts, at least for the D3, are supplied by Old Man Emu, Lovells Springs and King Springs. I have had a set of King Springs for many years and am very pleased with them.

Well I have only just bought my Disco 3, 2007 TDV6 HSE. Sure its been around the block at 175k kms but the general condition is excellent for the mileage. The only thing I had to do to get it through roadworthy was replace the rack ends and tie rods. I did the whole lot in one go, rack ends, rods and ball joints.

The only problem I have now is a recurring suspension fault that I suspect may be the drier becoming blocked.

After a month I'm still really enjoying driving her and she came fitted with a couple decent bits like BF Goodriches in 265/65R18 and an in bumper winch and front towbar setup.

This is also my first 4x4, so still a lot of learning to go, and I haven't even been offroad yet.

I'm also new on the forums, having recently acquired a '08 D3 HSE which I love, though it takes a lot of patience trying to fit it in my garage. (SWAMBO has already destroyed two mirrors - she was so busy looking in them to reverse out that she forgot to fold them in) Big Cry .

Here is an awesome post for an intro to the D3: http://www.4x4community.co.za/forum/showthread.php?t=108217

Enjoy!
