Optima batteries - post 1,000,001 on the matter |
|
Just got myself a yellow-top and a red-top to put under the hood.
I am actually replacing ageing / cheap temporary batteries but have a problem...
I can't get the vehicle's orignal cables to fit onto the new Optima battery terminals as the cable terminators are only suited to batteries with terminal posts near the edge of the battery casing and the cables are actually too short to reach.
Anyone got a solution to this or able to point me to the right thread?
Thanks.

Main battery ...the earth strap is only fitted to a earth stud ..so very easy to make a longer one .
Positive strap ...not sure if that will stretch enough ..never tryed ...but you can get extension leads/connecting joints that will move it far enough over ...

I have rigged up an extension lead on both sides, but it will need a more professional job in the new year, if anyone esle has a DIY solution than I would be interested in the details. Craig
