got the LR ones fitted, they sit about 15mm below the chassis legs and do what they're supposed to Wink saved me trashing the sills and plastic trim - twice Embarassed so good value, to me anyway Wink

I had a look at your gallery, do you mean the side-steps?
Can you get me a picture of how they are mounted?

As I had LR ones on my 110, and they did more damage then without Sad

I'm thinking of removing the plastic at the bottom of the doors with checkerplates, but shorter, so I can mount a rockslider a bit higher.

But all depends on how I can mount them

As well as the standard LR rock sliders, the Germany company Schiessler Edelstahl offer them in stainless steel. Photos on their web site, www.schiessler-edelstahl.de .

Penguin, sorry for the delay, the LR rock sliders are mounted on three brackets that sit behind the plastic trim on the sills. 3 x 44mm dia. holes have to be cut into the trim although the positions are marked on the rear of the trim at manufacture the brackets bolt on to the sills by means of three M8 bolts onto pre-tapped holes.
The rock sliders are tubular and of sufficent strength to protect the sills but will deform before the brackets (presumably to prevent the sill mountings being damaged)
