Sat nav and PTI
Hi all
I have just purchased a disco 3 se model.
having sat in my new car trying to get my nokia n95 to locate the car i gave up only to find out from the land rover website that the car does not have pti / bluetooth.
question 1 is can this be fitted, what does it take and what cost.
secondly i noticed the sat nav does not have the 4 x 4 info on it. is this simply a case of upgrading the nav disc or is it the whole unit.
any info on that would be great.
Many thanks

Welcome Andy the Landy
PTI can be retro-fitted by the dealer (i'm assuming you bought this 2nd hand?) if you bought from new & you'd specified it, then I think your in for a nice discussion with the dealer...)
You can also use a Parrot or Nokia Blutooth kit which you may find will be cheaper. Do a search on the site & you'll come up with loads of install advice.
As for the 4x4 info screen, I'm afraid it can't be upgraded. The sat nav disk will upgrade the satnav software and the maps, but you can't add the 4x4 info on.....

Welcome
LR aftermarket bluetooth kit can be fitted at a cost of around £350 (excluding fitting costs) .You can fit it yourself ...its not that difficult but you have to pull a bit of trim off to do it.
It only has bluetooth functions , no cradle for a phone .It can be programed for voice activation aswell .
4X4 Info screem is only available with premium sat nav ..not retroffitable im afraid
Disk is the same one as standard sat nav
Hope that helpsG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Hi Andy
I had a conversation with my dealer regarding fitment of the Blue tooth kit and was given an estimate of £676 to do it! Best bet is to keep an eye on e-bay as there are kits changing hands for about £120-150 from one particular source and then all you need is someone to fit it! (gotta be cheaper than LR). Can't help with the sat nav as my poverty spec S model hasn't got it.

Be wary of the kits on ebay as they have been selling off older kits without the bluetooth module and the wrong ( updated ) LR communication module !!!
Bodsy , You cant retrofit the PTI kit only the LR bluetooth kit G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

The PTI kit is the one that intergrates through the stereo ..allowing you to dial numbers through the keypad and get phone numbers on the stereo display aswell .Use to come with a cradle and external arial ..but not now .
LR blustooth kit ..is just a basic bluetooth kit ...no use of stereo keypad involved ..only to say "phone mode " when in a callG4 Gone ...but not forgotten
