No more Twin Electrics ???!! |
|
HI
Just ordered me new adjustable towbar complete with leccy from my local (Channel Islands) dealer.
Problem is I tried to get twin 7 pin (only really need lighting loom for horse box) but was told only 13 pin is now available? I have a 7 pin trailer so now face life with an adaptor or re jigging the box to 13 pin (if possible)
Is this right??

Hi chillisauce
dealer is talking rubbish i'm afraid
The kit you need is YWJ500201
As of Sept 08 all new caravans are to be manufactured with 13 pin elecs but it will not stop you getting the twin 7 kit
If you get any hassle getting a kit drop me a mail and i can arrange to send you one
Nick TLO has left the building.......

I think your dealer might be getting confused by the fact that from 1st Jan 09 all caravans have to be fitted with 13 pin socket.
I think this legislation is being misrepresented to apply to cars and other trailers by confused individuals who have not done their homework!

is it possible to have the "twin" sockets and the 13 pin sockets fitted ? if so, where would the 13pin socket be located ? Duncan

Thanks Nick. I thought he was talking balderdash but wasn't sure enough to argue.
I am now. I'll give you a bell if that doesn't work.
Thanks again and Happy New Year everyone.

Why not just get it from Nick anyway. Better service, better price and you can fit them yourself in 40 Mins tops "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

Had problems with the LR dealer on Jersey a number of years ago trying to get a part for my Disco 1 while I was working out there, the parts man didn't seem to know about Land Rovers. It was far easier to get it shipped from the mainland in the end "Never keep up with the Joneses. Drag'em down to your level. It's cheaper".
