Land Rover Spotlights - how do they switch?

Thinking of buying some of the Land Rover spotlights to fit to my newly acquired "A" Frame bar.

Question is - how hard are they to fit - do you need to run wire to the cabin and install a new switch ....or do they simply run off the main beam circuit - i.e you connect them in via a relay into the headlamps and they come on when you pull the stalk onto "main beam"?

Thanks for any advice from current owners of these.

Wired on to main beam with isolator switch on the dash....

Fitting....not something I'd do myself but 10forCash would be able to.....mine were fitted by some LR technicians on the side and it took them about 5 hours!!!

10forCash fitted mine (along with the A-Bar)
Ace job considering I didn't even have the wiring loom
Wired to work with the full-beam lights via a nice proper LR switch on the dash.

Thanks but I don't think 10forcash comes this far North (North East)! - I wonder if you can simpy do without the isolator switch (which is probably the most laborious part of the insatll) and simply have it switched with main beam?

May be wrong, but it could be a legal requirement to be able to isolate....

Dont know about the legal side either , but yes you can wire them through the main beam and a relay ..save you getting a wire into the cab .

Someone has a small wiring diagram they knocked up ..but i cant for the life of me find it at the moment

Hi, if you check my gallery then you'll see how i wired mine in through my high beam lights and also how the rest of the setup is done
 If in doubt............flat out.

To do it the Land Rover way is quite involved. I fitted my own lights, and it took me a day to fit the mountings, and another to wire them up.

Hardest bit was getting the green plug out of the CJB to fit a wire to it. It needs a 'magic' wand to remove it.

No doubt if I did it again, I would be quicker.
