D3 Fault code reader
Had a chance to play about with one of these and a D3 on friday.
Will only pick up current faults, but not stored faults.
Check the car for faults, said no faults stored. Unplugged the AFM and started the car. Switched it off, plugged it back in and it still said no faults. Tried again with it unplugged and engine running and it brought up the fault.
Unfortunately, it wont reset the service light...
Was speaking to the sales rep about prices. He said to buy one, £75 inc VAT, but would give a discount for bigger orders, but would need numbers first
It is universal though and will read codes stored on almost all cars. There is a disc with it which tells you what all the fault codes are
Anyone interested?

Wonder what they've done different to get any communication happening.

Bit limited use for me I'm afraid....be interesting if this unit has been deliberately engineered to work as far as possible with the D3 or whether it is just kinda lucky it does what it does...?Cheers

I would have prefered it if it told you any codes that had been logged, but for some reason it doesnt...

I can't
Typical Land rover, use a perfectly good standard (OBD / CAN) and then change it so it isn't standard any more .

You should never argue with idiots because they will just drag you down to their level....then beat you with experience !

Doesn't work on mine, no lamp flashes, any release and press of the "!" button just gives the settings menu. Gave the initial press-and-hold a good couple of minutes after IGN on but diddly....

Alientech is the OEM for rebadged BAS, Celtic tuning eMotion, ST3, etc. etc. They all work too. The BIOS can be uploaded for any manufacturer. Standards can be interpreted. Ford do it their way. There's one wheel on my wagon, but i'm still rollin' along, it's the cherokee, they're after me, but I'm singing a happy song
