Any one with the Wind Cheetah RR from Front Runner?
Mine is making a noise from 100km/h. Sounds like the wind deflector, I have checked that all bolts are tight. Manage to work some foam sheets in, the noise is 90% gone, but every now and then it rattles.
Anyone experienced this?2007 TDV6 SE auto (ex Write off)

Boet, if you can hear rattles from the rack just put your offroad tyres back on
Seriously though, I assume you have checked all the bolts?
The frequency of the noise will guide you to the cause - low frequency or knocking is big stuff flapping around slowly. Higher frequency or humming is small masses moving quickly -check the rivets on the deflector - mine loosened up at one stage and caused a humming/buzzing. Just drill them out and re-rivet.
Also, check the very front brackets - the M6 bolt that goes vertically into the roof sometimes loosens up and caused a knocking in mine (I have started using the basic loctite now)
I have experienced a humming sound at speeds of around 80km/h to around 90km/hour. It appears as if the sound originates at the rear part of the RR. It also appears to be temperature related with noise starting at lower speeds when the ambient temperature is lower.
I have been told by LA Sport that extending the wind deflector to cover the entire front section (as oppose to standard estimated 60%) of the RR will solve this problem. With RT tent fitted no humming sound so mine is for sure not a rattle.
Anyone removed the deflector? Major wind noise when off?2007 TDV6 SE auto (ex Write off)

If you remove the deflector, there is a serious harmonic at about 100km/h that feels like it will rip your vehicle apart.
I think FR could perhaps have overcome some of this by making the spacing on the rails uneven from front to rear, but this could have caused all kinds of other issues when trying to standardise equipment to fit the rack

I fixed a thin ( 18 AWG / ~ 1mm) sheet of aluminium to the underneath of mine, cuts the noise down by about 95% compared to without. It's similar in noise to the standard LR roof bars now and easy to do as the FR roof rack is exactly 4ft wide so the sheet only needed a bit lopping off one end to clear the PTI fin and the front corners cutting to the profile of the rack
That just looks the part, I am doing the same as blue meanie, my dad however fitted a piece of shaded cloth and he says it also helped a lot with wind noise2007 TDV6 SE auto (ex Write off)

What about water???? When it rains....are you getting a duck's pool on your rack or....?
Did you seal the sheet around to the roofrack?
