Off to the dealer this morning! |
|
Dropping her off this morning to hopefully have four faults rectified.
1. Low coolant warning - known error, parts ordered
2. Delay in dash illuminating when cold - unknown error, trying a replacement light switch assemby
3. Park Brake Error - no diagnosis made
4. Engine System Fault resulting in loss of acceleration - no diagnosis made.
No courtesy car available unless I want to wait three weeks
I'll let you know how they get on!

No spare car for 3 weeks is not good enough.
Phone LRCS see what they can do.

Not acceptable. Even if you buy a VW Polo you would get a courtesy car when yours is in for service. As CliffH said, LRCS should help.

The best way to ensure a courtesy car and a fast fix is to give LR Assistance a ring, they will come out to diagnose and confirm the fault, then provide a car for the first 48 hours, after that, the repairing dealer has to pay for it.
I'd have thought that a park brake fault and an engine fault would qualify for LRA coming out

They only come if the car is not drivable. So if for instance you get a suspension fault as long as the car is not access height they tell you to go to your dealer. DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

Mine's going in for the parkbrake fault light, which they say is probably a software fault as they think the engine system blah blah light is aswell. Will get them to look at the dropping seat whilst they have it, although the dealer seemed to think that it was a problem with the seat base not my bum cheek knocking the lever
Insisted that they collect it and give me a 7 seater replacement as that was the main reason that we bought it.
Drive 6-up alot of the time plus I have a lot of gear in the boot when we are 5-up so how am I supposed to use a diddly spare car.
I just don't understand why they seem so surprised when you insist on the same size equivelent car.
If I wanted a Polo, I would have bought one and saved myself a packet

There is another point, having paid in excess of £30K for a car, it should not need to go in for repair. During a service, which say is a mornings work, then maybe a Focus is acceptable, but not for a manufacturers component fault which often takes in excess of 3 days to fix by LR dealers, then a similar car should be supplied.

Got the suspension fault relating to the connector behind the N/S/F wheelarch, they booked a replacement car to be delivered to the dealers for my collection the next day although they did offer to take the vehicle in and provide the hire car to my home address

Dad's compressor was playing up but as it wasn't at access height they refused to come as it was still driveable. DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

Back home now.
1. Parts replaced
2. Parts replaced from a higher spec vehicle so I now have a switch with an auto setting and front fogs. Neither of which is fitted to my vehicle. Won't know if fault cured until cold weather returns
3. Part ordered, arrived broken so re-ordered
4. Don't believe this was looked at, no faults in log.
So, got to go back when gear selection switch arrives, 3 week wait for a loaner from dealer. Spoke to LR customer service who couldn't have been more helpful. They will liaise with dealer and ensure that a car is available when the part arrives.
Still worried about item 4, loss of acceleration on the Motorway is not a happy experience.
