Alloy Wheel Refurb - Glasgow

Anyone used a wheel re-furb specialist in or around Glasgow that they can recommend?

Ken, I know you do this, but you're a bit far away Big Cry You got any pals up here that do this?

I need 4 19" HSE alloys re-done to stop rim leakage (oh-er missus!)

I found these guys on the web http://www.wheelcentre-scotland.co.uk/index.html who have been around as long as I have by the looks of it Laughing

All suggestions gratefully received Thumbs Up

No worries about Sunday. The rim leakage was such a PITA that I bought a set of 17"ers which I'm running about on at the moment whilst I decide what to do about the 19" wheels. Thumbs Up

I'll look up Carrick and see what they say.

cya Sunday Thumbs Up

Trust your tyre shop has tried bead sealant & also get the rims powdercoated as it helps with the seal Whistle

Ken, yeah, they tried quite a bit of sealant, which helped but didn't solve it.

The crowd I posted the link to above have quoted £49+vat per wheel, for chemical dipping, shot blasting, machining and powder coating, laquer and baking. Sounds reasonable to me.

I'll probably give them a shot unless anything else crops up soon.

Cheers guys Thumbs Up

Personally i wouldn't use that lot in Cambuslang, they were alway way over the top with their prices, even for second hand alloys.

There is another two powder coaters i can think of off handed in Glasgow. There is one on Castlebank St, just off of the Clydeside express way, as though you were heading for Clydebank, they are in one of the small industrial units on the RHS, if driving down (South St, i think it is).

The other is ESP, based just off of Saracen Street, just up the way from where Eddie Stobbart was or still is based. We used ESP for the bike frames and he does a first class finish and some wicked metallic colours.

I agree with the comments on ESP Powdercoating.

They refurbed the alloys on an M5 I had a few years ago-shadow chrome finish and a nightmare to replicate. Did a full back to bare metal job for about £75 a corner from memory-maybe late 2005

couldnt recommend them highly enough.
