How long will the spare key battery last, sitting unused in a drawer?
My previous car's spare key was never used in 10 years. Shall I have to regularly alternate keys, in order to keep both charged?
Or, is there a standalone induction charger for the purpose? Anybody ever measured the frequency they work at?
Thanks, ciao P. Bianchi, D3 TDV6 HSE - manual, nav 4x4 info, electric roof, rear diff, EGR blanked, EPB actuator changed 3rd times --> twirling balls, compressor twice, no longer MSV-2, Oltrepo' Pavese Hills, Pavia, Italy

The key charges when in ignition, so wisest thing is to alternate keys to ensure integral battery in key doesnt go flat

I've left the key completely unused for over 4 months and the fob still worked. In the worst case scenario (a dead fob, without a charged fob available), you'd just need to open the door using the emergency key hole... since the car will still start with an uncharged fob.
