Removing Side steps
Hi All
looking for some non-technical advice on how the fook to remove the side steps on Betty, ( only reason I can see to leave them on is for Bugsy and his Molls to hang on outside and shoot up the town as we blaze thru) ,
besides using the con-saw
Anyway, was under Betty today looking at her from underneath for the first time
and was fiddeling with the bits you do and remove all obvious bolts to no avail, tried applying 130kgs in a jumping up and down motion, but this dident work either- conclusion - theres more bolts, are there any bolts holding on the side steps at the side under the plastic trim where the door meets the side
was running out of daylight so didnt venture behind this plastic trim, and replaced some of the previously removed bolts in case murphys law prevailed and the damn thing fell off on the way home
sorry no pics, only manly stuff in my tool box, like tools, and a whoopin big hammer
Does this help... it's for fitting.. so just do in reverse when sober!!As you slide down the banister of life
may no splinters point your way

Remove the steps by undoing the six small nuts underneath, then remove the plastic trim and it all becomes clear. Three brackets per step just bolted on.
Would'nt be a bad idea to order some of the plastic trim clips before going at it, as you are guaranteed to break one or two. They usually have them in the dealers for €1 each (robbing f kers. Just put mine back on after snowdonia. I dont know why I bothered though! Found a bit of sill damage under there too........ Uncle Rays Rock Sliders may be needed for the next event.....
