Car left me this evening on the back of an on-time recovery truck
While out at the shops I found a total loss of drive when accelerating after coasting at low speed. Had family in the car so did not want to take too much time and test if command shift resolver the issues, just called LRA out.
Seemed to be when I was coasting into a roundabout and then accelerating out - as if 2nd gear is not engaging. If I stop and then pull away again it was fine. If I tried to power out of it the revs just went up and up.
Car is a 05 HSE 36k and due a service soon but no warning lights came on, fluids all checked weekly.
Any ideas on what this may be and as it is going back to the dealer what I should expect from LRA and the dealer?
Only had the car six months, had 4 grand cherokees over the last ten years, this is my first disco and I am already missing it.... ----------------------------

Assuming its an auto, it is more than likely the gearbox cable pivot seizing up. Was the lever tight to move through the gears, from P to D and back, and the D in the instrument pack went off while drive was lost?
Should move with very little resistance
