It's a widely held view that the current gallery software is clunky, confusing, inflexible and plain irritating...
So, I would like to open up this thread for suggestions for features for a replacement gallery - what functionality would you like to see?
A few things to start you off, comments on these welcomed:
- Upload to gallery directly from the forum (attachments)
- Not having to create a gallery before uploading
- Information error messages
- Cleverer upload system to upload larger images on slower connections and resize before uploading
- Better file management - move/rotate/resize
- Numberplate eraser tool
- Display of remaining file quota
Now off you go!

I personally have no probs with the current system Martin, but your list has two IDEAL additions. A numberplate editor and file resizing would be a great time saver and would like that included

Nothing wrong with it is there. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Works fine as is. The surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us yet.

If you know how to use it it's ok - but for a novice it's very clunky.
Plus the support/help for it is hostile to say the least... and updating it to the latest version would probably take as long as sorting out new software.

I would like to be able to drag-and-drop files into the gallery rather than the current method - not sure if that is technically possible though.. Duncan
