it would be nice if we could simply ad a pic from our own pc photo file direct into the forum as we post...
ie by doing something like.....
\ IMAGE[photo Disco in farmyard 2 18 2 2009]
and the pic would appear here in the thread.....wife has seen it in other sites (ancestry and local photo ones)
it would help sme of us "Grumpy old men".....(who me????)
Not possible as the site does not and cannot have direct access the files on your PC - sorry.
It would be possible to add files in the forum (still uploading them) without having to going to the gallery separately.

Generally I'm happy with the Gallery, now that I know how to use it, although yes it would be handy to upload more files in one go.
Also, building on Getafix's comments earlier - I agree, it would be good to have a central gallery for picture which are for general use - such as those included in technical threads which will be referenced for a long time to come, that way the My Gallery would really be restricted to pics/docs realting to "Me or My vehicle"
By the way, when's the 2010 Calendar gallery opening up LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

How about an easier 'quote' system
An automatic resize facility would save a lot of time/effort 8)
Searching for pics can be difficult, but that's because most of us don't add tags when we save them - not a lot can done about that Disco 5 HSE Lux

Any chance of a simple picture editor? For when you have a picture in your gallery already, and want to add some text like "This bit is the FBH" for instance? Rather than having to edit a picture on the PC, upload it to the gallery, then get the bb code etc. Just save a bit of time
Also, any chance of having multiple pictures within the same frame - a bit like passport photo's? Occasionally i might want to follow someone elses instructions for modifications etc and hit the print button, but i don't want x number of pages, but just one or two with the x number of steps in miniature. If this can be done now, then i've never seen it and would also of saved the pages being blown all over the garden when i opened the door

Heres my list ..seeing as i dont post any pics
1, Automatic resize would be great
2 ,Batch uploading ..select 10 pics for example and upload then all at once
3 , if i create a new gallery ..then upload a picture ...why do i have to then find that gallery from the drop down list ...or even once i have found that gallery ..let it stay on that ..nout worse than having to locate the gallery ..then only to find that the next upload want's you to locate that gallery again

A way to find out which thread/post a picture is linked to when viewed in the gallery?
Sometimes you can find the picture but cannot find the thread where it was discussed. Disco 5 HSE Lux

Hi Martin,

I think this would be a key improvement....the ability to upload files directly from the posting.php page is very useful - even leaving the users with the option of placing them inline (displaying them in the message) or simple as a link in the post (for PDFs etc) is useful.
You could also use GD or ImageMagick server side to resize the images to a max value (although I'm not sure if phpBB2 supports this I'm guessing it does).
Another good idea for uploading multiple images at once would be to allow the site to accept and decompress ZIP files containing several images. I've seen this working on an Invision-based site and it works very well. You don't save much bandwidth uploading zipped jpegs, but it makes the process less painful for this user.
Basically anything which avoids us jumping through too many hoops to publish images would be a bouns.
It's also nice of you to ask us for feedback on site features. Keep up the good work 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue
