To reply or to type slimy underhand remarks about a thread or me, or the lack of my D3 getting dirty only makes the LEMMINGS stand out
Is that aimed at me?
My comments were certainly not underhand or slimy...especially as I'm the one who was saying that you're not as bad as you make out......
Maybe I've taken your reply out of context? If I haven't then I won't be defending you again 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

Mac, don't let it get you down. I posted such a comment last night, using my own forum name, in good humour, and all credit to you, because I think that's how you took it.
I'm not a fan of Miss Marple. I guess she's a cipher for someone who could have posted the comment openly, with moral courage. If not, she's a bore, who mercifully posts much less often than those about whom she complained.
I like this site. I like the people on it. I don't agree with everything people say, but I like spending time here. I like the serious advice and I like the banter. I like the high-posters because they're the core who set the tone, who are friendly, and often the first to say hello to new members and to offer advice. I like the fact that I spend time driving off-road with JF Lux, who I would not have met but for this site. I like the fact that iconix dropped by to say hello when I was on the Chunnel. I like making "spotted" posts. I like reading about what others have done n their D3s, and I like the fact that they inspire me to think that I can do the same. I like the fact that people like TFC offer expeditions to places like Tunisia and Iceland. I like MacLeod because he doesn't take himself too seriously and he's willing to admit when he's strayed out of the naughty corner.
I don't like Miss Marple. She might not post often, but her first post in this thread was poison. Bog off, misery guts.

Aawwwww...I never knew you cared so much...brings a tear to my eye....
And as for this thread...? The site is fine the way it is - its evolving with new people and new interaction. Some of the funniest banter is from those that this thread may be aimed at. Why ? Because (IMHO) some have been around for a while and therefore there is a comfort and familiarity amongst people. And to me that makes it friendly, relaxed and welcoming...The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...
Club "yes, I too have had the EGR's replaced..."
Club "yes, I too have had the compressor replaced..."
Club "yes, I too once had the car at the dealer for a couple of weeksnearly 4 weeksover 4 weeks...5 weeks"
Club "yes, I too have had EPB failure..."
Club "yes, I too get mysterious bings and bongs..."
SM - you are spot on there. But it does make my Friday night...The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

With the fear of beng told to mind my own business as a 'Newbie'.
But I have to say, I think the site is great just as it is. If there was not a bit of slagging, banter and off-topic ranting, it would be potentially a boring place.
As a new comer I've been able to buy a few bits for the D3 (and too many sets of wheels) and get some help answering questions that even Chris Tyler cant answer. Sure I have gotten a slagging and a few smart answers, and have seen the odd thread go sideways, but that is half the fun isnt it?
Here's a question.... are some people taking it a bit too seriously?
