I used to have a pair of standard Land Rover auxilliary lamps, and I thought they were OK, until they filled with water.

I now have a pair of Lightforce 170's fitted onto the Land Rover mountings, and they are much better.

Look good not a bad price either - are mountings easy to come by?

The mounting I used were the originals that came with the LR lamps. They are available from LR dealers separately from the lamps, and come complete with wiring and instructions. The only thing is, they need you to cut a pair of 54mm holes in the top of the bumper. A case of once fitted, forever used, unless you want to buy a new bumper
You can also make your own brackets to avoid cutting holes in the bumper. You could also use the main beam feed to power a relay if you just wanted basic wiring.

I've got the older style LR Safari 5000's on mine, mounted on the grill rather than the bumper. Easy to fit, and come out with the grill, so no hassle when having to change headlamp bulbs (as the grill has to come out to do this)

Are you sure that the loom comes with the mounts? I thought the only way to get the correct loom was to purchase a set of lamps. Do you have a part number for the mounts please. Trying to find an easy way to fit some LF to the font. I don't have the courage to cut the front grill that was shown here a few weeks ago HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE

erm no, not 100% sure. You better check with Thelargeone for confirmation on that
Its over 4 years since I fitted them, and have lost a few brain cells since then
Perhaps Al can elaborate on his mounting method? I don't see why Lightforces should not fit using his method. They are not as heavy as LR units, and use a standard vertical bolt mounting on the base.

Will do. I'm down to see Nick on Wed for some work, so will have a chat them and see what he comes up with. Cheers for the help though. Would be good to see how Al has mounted to the front grill. Perhaps a smallish frame and lots of filler/glue/epoxy. Hopefully he'll be along in a bit to show all.HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE

Actually, the bottom rail of the grill is fairly firm, but I cut 2 bits of plastic about 10mm thick and about 50mm long, glued them to the back of the bottom rail, then drilled straight through grill and plastic, and put the bolts through there. Worked fine.

I have the lightforce 240 Blitz "Portable Suns" with optional Blue filter ( to blend the light produced in better with the xenon lights)
Awesome light as these have been on my patrol for about 2 years. I dont really need them as the Adaptive Bi-Xenon and foglight combo is one of the brightest on high beam iv'e ever seen but now it is even better
Got the stealer to wire them up with a nice little dash switch so it all looks nice and factory
