There were some pretty sleek modern caravans there, but they did not press the right buttons. I found them all style and no content.
I could not find half of the Land Rover exhibits, maybe they went home early. There was a lad selling day tents for Defenders, and a towing comp using Freelanders, and I could have had a test drive in a Range Rover SC or an RRS SC that were driving around.

Gareth we looked at the Eldis at the Earls Court show, I wasn't ready for privacy glass in a caravan! We did buy a Fleetwood Heritage though as apart from Vanmaster they were the only ones who would alter the layout.
The Vanmaster sales guy asked me if I could afford one, so I told him I had enough money to know I wasn't going to give him any - bloody cheek.
But it doesn't stop with the van does it, new awning and a mover because its a twin axle and suddenly another £3K gone Still its better than buying an Avondale like my father did. The big selling point was the GRP single piece front and roof, what they don't tell you is that the GRP cracks and after a year unless there is water ingress the warranty won't cover it - and we thought LR/Ford were sharp. There are in fact three at present. Given the selling points of the D3 are off-road ability, seating capacity and towing strengths, I guess the scariness might be why there are so few threads.... Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana

NEC?
Where was this show? I just looked at the NEC website and the only expo I can find is the Caravan show later in the year (Oct?). That's the NEC Birmingham, right?

I really liked the smoked glass! also the flush fit of the windows. The interior had a good quality feel, and the bathroom was great.
I currently have a Fleetwood Colchester 1850 which is getting a bit long in the tooth, Its been a good reliable van, but I have been put off Fleetwood by appaling spare parts supply, and a dealer who was not really interested unless I was buying a new van.
Question is do I cough out 18k for a 2006 now, or 14k for a 'new' 2005, or wait until the end of the this years season and pick up a bargain 2006 if there are any left.
