Hi all,
Am new member and was looking for help on adding additional audio source to my LR3 (HSE).
What I am trying to do is hook up a Traffic Camera warning device so that it interrupts (or mixes with) current audio output (similar to telephone integration).
I know I can simply plug the device into the AUX - but then can not listen to radio or CD.
Any help or advice appreciated or should I just foget it as a bad idea?

I don't think this would be possible without going to quite extreme lengths....especially as your HSE has a fibre-optic (MOST) based amplifier.
I guess the easiest way would be to connect the output to an external speaker hidden under the seats or in the dash somewhere - pretty much the same as you'd do for a CB radio. These can be picked up very cheaply (10 quid?) 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

I think this is probably a project that has got too much hassle in it, for little reward. You don't say what warning system you are using, but I would suggest that if your aim is to keep things looking neat, then get an external GPS aerial for your warning system and then hide it away. Get an external speaker as Paul suggests if you need one.
I have seen a road angel wired in nicely behind the dash and it's loud enough to be heard over the stereo etc. D3 HSE MY05 Auto

Thanks guys - guessed it might be pushing the boundaries a bit - will look into the external speaker option.

It is possible with a 'Bobbycrapcomms' unit.
Essentially, you need to splice into the speaker output & if the magic box of tricks detects sound (from your Angel or whetever) then it will switch off the original soiurce & switch to the new source.
I think he had some teething problems with feedback ro something so not sure if he's still got it in place.

Thanks for the pointer Bodsy. Have had a quick look and seems as though it might do the job. Will let you know whether I pluck up the courage to do it - the external speaker option seems more appealing the more I get into this!!

You can get a small speaker from Maplins for 4.99 which fits behind the H surround (around the radio) at the top right hand side under the grill. I use this form my CB Speaker Bodsys Brake Bible
