I have to admit that this dealer has come up trumps in looking after me while my Ruby was unwell. All the Warranty work has been completed with no arguments! I was treated with courtesy at all times even when I was probably not as polite to them as I could have been! Loan car for the 16days was a 07 Volvo S40 so marks lost there for not giving me a FFRR HSE but it done the job. 8)
Mechanic who worked on my D3 went for a test drive with me to check the faults were rectified to my satisfaction and also went through the job sheet and explained all the parts that had been replaced and why. He even apologised for the length of time he had the car for but confessed that no one in the workshop had ever dismantled a D3 dashboard and as he got the short straw he wanted to take his time and do the job properly. Changing the recirculation flap motor assembly was a total nightmare of a job apparently although LR says it is only a 4.5hr job! No squeaks or rattles so he has done the job correctly and carefully.
It made a refreshing change to have someone actually be honest and explain what he had done and seem to take a pride in his work.
So have I been lucky in finding a Stratstones Dealer that is OK or is this a one off and I am speaking too soon!!

I may also be one of a few, but I have been buying and having my Land Rover's all serviced by Stratstone in Milton Keynes (Newport Pagnal) and have had good if not excellent Service form them. Even with the regular staff changes I still get well treated. Long may it last.Got lost going home to OZ

It sounds like you found a great LR Technician as opposed to LR Dealer!
The brief encounter I had with Cardiff Stratstone (only cos JV Like were in admin at the time) was shocking!
Bascially my windscreen wipers were US as they had gone off screen, (a 10 sec job, which I could have done my self but why both when you have warranty)
Cardiff Stratstone expected me to wait 2 weeks before they would have look at it! Bearing in mind this was Feb when we were having all the snow and sleet etc!'56 Disco 3 SE - Tonga Green

returned 1 volvo loan car back to stratstone cardiff +picked my baby up,went in for heated windscreen which they replaced and cured the epb squeals all under warranty,brilliant service and nice people to deal with. my on mine is 07
It does pay to be nice and thank staff when they do the job right. They have at last cured my juddering and to be fair they have worked hard to find it. Although they should have listened to the advice from this forum in the first place.....
By being polite with the staff when I collected my loan car last visit, I had a Freelander 2 instead of a Volvo. The guy dropping off his new FFRR and being given a Volvo wasn't impressed, but he looked a right miserable git!!!
My Ruby was even treated to a full valet inside and out while there......... 8)

Asked parts department stratstone cardiff what wheels would fit D3.
Reply: D3 nothing else, not sport or FFRR, since finding this site I know know different
Perhaps Stratstone should become members of this site as part of their trainingwelsh petrol head
Base 5 seat, ex HA with air,terrain,tip tronic and some bling (gone)
D4 Gs 7 seat totally standard for now
