AFAIK the steering wheel itself isnt a problem - CFB has done this.
The audio and cruise control buttons are an easy job for retrofit - done this on mine.
Telephone is a no-no on a base 7, as we don't have the premium audio therefore none of the gubbins to make it work.

Was yours a steering wheel change or did you retrofit the control button panel?

Craig,
Did your cruise control work just by adding the buttons ? Something that doesn't drink diesel and doesn't cost a bloody fortune everytime it needs serviced / fixed. But hey ....I got a deal from the leasing company on my D3 that you guys can only dream about !

I (or 10forcash) retrofitted the two small control panels for the cruise and audio controls.
Few quid from The Large One or Nick at Yeovil LR.
Worked first time

Done this on my base 7 - Audio controls work straight away, cruise control needs enabling which a dealership cannot do as LR restrict the codes needed for the software so as to stop you retro adding to base spec HOWEVER TFC can do it for you,5 min job!!!. Suggest you PM him to arrange.
Changing the steering wheel and adding switch units is a straight forward job.
All worth doing

Out of interest I recently moaned about the infamous sticky patches that appear on some wheels where the grip wears. Told my dealer about it and it was changed under warrenty to a smooth black leather wheel.
It is very nice - dealer didn't expect it and said they would change if I didn't like it. I suspect its the new wheel given LR had a few issues with the other.
Very happy with it.

steering wheel is a straight swap and audio(radio) control buttons will work straight away after fitting but cruise is a bit more involved . As previously mentioned it will more than likely require the attention of TFC TLO has left the building.......

When I get a loaner D3 (base spec I think), surprisingly, the leather steering wheel is the one thing I really miss. Followed closely by cruise. I reckon it's the best upgrade you could do! 2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +

If the buttons are added to the steering wheel, will the options settings appear (by pressing the info button on the stalk). Or does that part also need programming to work.
Thanks in advance for reply, Iain
