Indpendent specialist Manchester/Lancashire
Hi,
I'm looking to see whether it's worth switching to an independent specialist for servicing/maintenance in the Manchester/Lancashire area. Does anyone have any recommendations on trusted garages?
I did use main dealer until out of warranty and then switched to a very good 'family' mechanic' but he does not have the equipment to read the ECU and on the last service was unable to reset service indicator or a low coolant fault message so I think it's best to find a good independent.
BTW - has anyone ever managed to reset their service indicator the manual way with that checklist thingy?
Thanks for any replies.Badda bing.......How you doin'?

Just as an aside there is a thread about 'low coolant level' messages. Fault with the sensor, trust you've seen it.
Don't forget 10forcash is mobile And he can reset/disable the service indicator as well as al ot of other D3 fancy things LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Cheers for the replies, yes I have seen the thread on the low coolant messages thanks. The closest independents to me are Land Ranger, Atherton and A1 in Bury. I have no feedback on either. I see Stratstone Bury gets good feedback but I am out of warranty so I am not told to a main dealerBadda bing.......How you doin'?

I have used Land Ranger in the past with disco 1 and 2's with no problems at all and a friend currently uses them with his RR. Hope this helps.

Service interval indicator can't be reset manually, but I can service your D3 at your location and reset the service indicator All services are to LR schedule plus a bit!

not heard any bad reports on the bury garages but the main dealer is one of the worst within 50 miles of here.steer well clear.
i use independant land rover at waterfoot 01706231313. let us know how you get on.
Went into Stratstone Bury on Sat - they gave me a quote for finance on a 1 year old XS, went into Lloyd in Carlisle the next day and they laughed at the brass neck of the guy for trying to flog me that quote.
Mate bought one 4 months ago, went into Stratstone and basically said they were not interested in his cash.
Trying Hillendale tomorrow - any feedback on them

Iain (10forcash) serviced mine recently... top job and the added extras are well worth it.
