Parking Brake Orange Light |
|
I wonder if you can help.
Out today and the Orange 'P' light came on. Pulled over read the manual and called someone out, so thats what I did. I was told it's a sensor as the details of which gear I am in are not showing up on the dash either.
I have been told to take it to a dealer to get it fixed so does anyone know a good dealer in the Berkshire area that are good and could fix the issue with minimal of fuss.
Does this sound right, it's a manual car, I can clear the fault by turning the car off and re-start it but within seconds of choosing a gear the orange light comes back on, I was also told I could drive it, does this sound ok?
Thanks in advance
Felipe

Speak nicely to your local dealer and ask them to update the transfer case software
There is a software update available which affect the X-Y switch continuosly loosing calibration.
A sliiping clutch will also cause the same fault, and no software downloads will cure that, unfortunately. If it smells at all, id suspect the clutch as being faulty, even though you cannot detect the clutch slipping My D3 Build Thread

ok, so I knew there would be a day that I went to Maidenhead Business Park.
So after 3 goes and some funnly looks from the security guards there I have now no orange light, it seems to work.
I have checked for a smell of clutch burning, my wife burnt one out in the last car, have checked with her about riding clutch and she say no.
So hopefully it will go away forever, if not will try this and if that doesn't work then get it off to the dealer.
Thanks for all the help.
Oh, not to forget anybody still know a good dealer or someone who can service and fix the car, obviously maintaing the Land Rover Select Warranty I have in my area.
Thanks
