Copley Landrover Halifax - 2nd Service & warranty repair |
|
Just had my car in for it`s 30k 2nd service £340. Also needed rear break pads changing £91.
The day before, the car developed a fault and displayed the following messages.
HDC fault
System fault, special programs not available,
Various amber lights and no speedo.
Suspention lowered.
This has happened twice before. Once dealt with by Stratstones in Durham (took over a month and service bad ) and once in Switzerland (took 1 week and servce by local dealer good). Copley LR said that it was down to a speed sensor in the wheel assembly. I guess this might happen one more time.
When I booked the car in I also asked them to look as a screaching EPB and noisy wipers.
All faults and EPB covered under warranty without problems. Wipers addressed by cleaning windscreen with "special" solution.
Loan car was a Ford Fiesta.
Disco was vac`d and washed. No issues.
Service was fine without problems. I was without car for 24hrs. I think the servce from Copley LR was fine. I know I did`nt pay the cheapest rates but don`t belive I was ripped off.
Funny thing was when I returned to the car, the front passenger door would not unlock. The LR chap said that they had had a few of these issues over xmas. He mananged to free it and said that a new mechanism would be ordered for me. Discovery 3 Metropolis Zermat Silver

Squeaked the MoT in thanks to Copley being very accomodating. I will be away when THE DAY arrives, towing caravan.
I had to take the opportunity to mention the odd failing before the warranty expires.
Looks like I am in for all new suspension and steering linkages (front) and one tie-bar (rear), in addition to new cruise control buttons and driver's seat elements.
Does anyone know if the suspension linkages go again after re-fit? 30,004 miles and three years is not a long life, and they ain't been hammered...
So - thanks to Copley for speed, friendliness and thoroughness, and extended warranty here I come...
A 2006 D3 finally swapped for a 2016 D4 Graphite in Graphite grey. No mods
