Just thought I'd drop a note to sing the praises of Liverpool Land Rover service center at the end of the M62 at the
Rocket, simply Fantastic, took Tallulah in for a 3 year end of warranty check up and she's like new now! lost
track of everything they swapped out, they even checked over my mates TD5 which had an ABS fault light up and corrected the glitch FOC there n then. The chap who did the work is known as the monster of St Helens not cos he's an animal but because he's huge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but top man, proper LR lover not your normal stealership numpty!
He and his apprentice (Yeh thats right Apprentice!) even came out to meet me when I picked up, he wanted to meet the driver that uses his D3 for what it's made for lol if he could only have seem me on that LR experience day lol.............So well recommended. Think the service charges are a tad cheaper too!

I take it all back, it would seem they're as bad as the rest when it comes to understanding customer care!
Rear view mirrors still sticking, noise from behind dash ie damper arm, both these issues couldn't be found, they'd tried all day to replicate the faults without success until I demonstrated them and magically they appeared? even the park sensors so effectively repaired seem to switch themselves off after driving for a few miles???? obviously not all the Fitters there are as effective as The Monster from St Helens.
Then to cap it all I found that during their hasty rub over the dash with a wet rag they do before returning it to you, that the scally wearing the bling had scratched the inside of the screen leaving a lovely squiggly line complete with glass dust in my field of view! I pointed it out to the service manger who told me it was already there! and must have been because the scally had marked it on his job card on his pre-work inspection! That would be the inspection where I wasn't present to accept any existing damage obviously. Funny how all the other dings, dints and scratches aren't listed on his job card! wonder if I should claim for those????? so avoid HATFIELDS LAND ROVER at the rocket interchange Liverpool!!! and my sincere apologies for any one taking my recommendation earlier!
Will let you know how things get sorted out!

I suppose there are good and bad tales to tell from most dealers/service centres. I've used both Hatfields and JE over the last 3 years and know which one I'd have more faith in and would use again. As you slide down the banister of life

I haven't been to a main dealer to date who does a job anywhere near as good as TFC D4 HSE....Probably, but not quite decided yet.

Paul - my sympathies.
When I picked mine up from them after the 2 year service there was a huge oil patch on the boot mat (???how???) and they were very unsupportive in a recent warranty claim that I had.
With the end of warranty / yr 3 service / fist MOT fast approaching I'm stumped for the best place to take it.
I believe Lakeland are very good

Thanks Frenchy, spoke to Hatfields national service manager today equally unsimpathetic! Offered to meet n discuss but his line was the same as the liverpool chap, couldn't answer the question as to why the scratch on the windscreen was the only damaged logged on 75k miles 06? Just spouted the same crap as his mate! Think there's a pattern forming here!

Hi paul - isn't there anyone any good in posh Cheshire
Presumably you'll be out of warranty now would you consider going independant ( I used to use LRC4x4 in Congleton for the d2) or maybe, following all the fan mail, making some TFC enquiries??

Frenchy
Usually use independents! never been happy with Stealerships from sales right through service! I've done work myself and used both LR centre in Speke & Power Range 4x4 in Wales both good but not covered to do warranty work so stuck with either Hatfields or James Edwards locally. May give Lakeland a call in Kendal anyone on here got numbers and the best contact??? could take SWMBO out for the day!!

Paul,
can't find any names for the guys who work there, but do a search on 'torver' which is where the garage is(near coniston) or on 'lakeland' and you can read the reviews - people seem to be willing to travel and make a day of it as you suggest - got to keep tallulah happy now

I can recommend either Lakeland or Kentdale as both are excellent. Service manger is called Mark at Lakeland and the guy at Kentdale is Steve. Both have done favoures and free work for me in the last couple of months.
If you go to Lakeland go onto Coniston, it has the most fantastic scenery. SOLD - 23my Range Rover Sport D300 Dynamic SE

Well Frenchy & Digital, went to Lakeland today and guess what? All being sorted and some! Even got the nod on how good Tallulah was at 3 years and 75k, had a relaxing day by the lake n driving a surprisingly capable Freelander 2, not my cup of tea you understand bit nice all the same! All the bits are on order and looking forward to my next visit, Lee's the Man!
Oh and also found out that land rover extended warranties have been reduced to 650 and 880 with LRA which by all accounts os moving from Mondial to AA later this year! All in all a good day!
