EPB Dirty/Adjust/Clean Warranty? |
|
I'm at the dealers for a free service (long story) anyway the EPB has a slight squeal and asked them to inspect.
Result is the shoes need replacing due to 'off road' use (Dirty). They recommended after off roading to jet wash the complete rear brakes assembly through the alloy wheel gaps.
Before I rave up, they'retalking out their aren't the?

AT are more than good enough for greenlaning, MT look harder and sound louder. Personally? AT every time I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

MT's as they're 'ard as nails and last forever. The noise is a slight drone, but way way quieter than the STT's and not much more than the AT's really.
As for the brakes, yes you should clean wround the wheels and brakes through the alloys, but how are you going to jetwash the shoes as they're enclosed behind the disk, unaccessible......... Bodsys Brake Bible

Stand the car in 380mm of water overnight to soak the lower half of the drum, then drive forward 120cm and leave again to soak the other half? I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
