Will used prices drop with the D4?
I am looking to get rid of my current car (Mitsubishi Evo 8) and get a used D3, but I am concerned that prices will drop further with the D4 coming out - I dont want to pay X amount to find that in 3 months time I could have paid a good few thousand less for similar spec/age/miles.
Opinions?
Thanks

When the D3 came out there were some cracking deals on the old Disco....I bought a new one in the June before the October release....
I am going to look at trading my D3 in for a new D3 when the D4 is released and maybe they'll be some deals to be had....nil admirari
They probably will, but it really depends on the numbers of D3's traded against newer models. If there is a huge immediate uptake (unlikely in this current climate)oversupply means prices fall.
Don't worry about it, my motto has been once the exact spec of car you want becomes affordable, buy it. Lifes too short, just don't read the classifieds too often!

New cars will be able to get cracking deals, but used cars will generally not be affected too much.
Althoiugh therer will be a glut of used D3's once the D4's are released (they're taking pre orders for the D4 now...)Bodsys Brake Bible

You Brits are lucky, as our dealers have very little in the way of new LR3 inventory right now. Maybe one or two left over '08's and the same for '09's, all of which have been sitting stagnant for months on the lots. Some dealers do not even have a new FFRR for sale. Pre-owned LR3 prices have actually risen in the last few months. All very disconcerting for those of us looking to replace an LR3 going back at its lease term.'06 LR3 V8 SE - recently returned on lease end
'08 FFRR
'09 Cayenne GTS - Manual w/ PDCC
'07 Cayman (gone unfortunately)
Having agonised for weeks and weeks over my purchase I finally reached the conclusion that - work out what you are willing to pay, work out what you want for that money and go for it - there will always be a better deal around at some point.
If you spend forever waiting and looking you lose out on having the D3 in that time.
