Do Light gurards leave a hole? |
|
I fancy a set of light guards (front & rear) but it looks like they leave a hole in the front wing not sure about the rear .
The LR dealer says not and I have the instructions and they are not clear.
Anybody done this?

Does it show a drill anywhere on the instructions? If so expect a hole

No, there is no hole made in the front fender. In fact, both front and rear can be removed and you'd never know they were there from the outside.

Had my front lights out at the weekend. I think there are 2 ready-holes behind the lights for 2 rubber bungs to fit into. The self-tappers screw through these, rather than anything expensive, to hold the outer frame on. The light guard then screws on to this exposed frame.
So I don't think there will be any drilling or tapping into bodywork. Looks to be an easily reversable upgrade.
Edit: , out typed again, see above!

The rears do require drilling behind the light cluster to hold the bracket. There is no drilling on the outer panel. Discovery 3 'S' Bonatti Grey.
