Big thanks to JKP
I had the man at mine to go over the D3 in prep for a wedding and would like to say what a great job he does.
I didn't realise how badly scratched it was Once John washed it(properly ) you could see all the damage from recent events and last Sat's trip up the Cairgorms to pick up an injured walker on a very narrow track that was banked on both sides and overrun with Heather.Maybe John will post the 50/50 shot of my door
He did a sterling job and the car has never looked shinier
I can recommend him to anyone.
Hope the Bridesmaids i am picking up don't think i am overcompensating with having a big shiny car Its not the height of the fall but the sudden stop at the bottom that hurts!!

A pleasure Tony
An enjoyable day working on cars I like to work on
On the way home I realised I never took any final pics probably because of the monsoon weather in Aberdeen. Four seasons in 30 mins never mind a day, one minute thinking of putting my hat on as my head was burning to running for cover from hailstones , oh, and the desire to get a fish supper from the Ashvale before heading home All in 16 hours door to door then a couple of the stella, big thanks, which was still cold
I took some initial improvement pics to share on here.
50:50 showing a single pass machine polish. The majority of the scratches and rash are removed, but as you can see the deeper ones still remain if you look at the full size pic, this will only be seen in certain light, but the improvement is a bit better. These can also be removed, but is more time consuming.

As the machining removes the lighter stuff the edges of the deeper ones are rounded and detract from the eye.

Giving an overall improvement in look and gloss finish. There is no finishing product on the car at this stage but you can see the difference between front and rear

The guys at the base were asking where the sand had come from John they didn,t believe me when i said the Sahara
Might have to wrap it up in cotton wool and cancel all off road trips now
Na only joking Its not the height of the fall but the sudden stop at the bottom that hurts!!

Sand..
It had me confused for a bit until I opened the bonnet.
I better get the bucket and spade for wee JKP for when DSL pays a vist later this month

I know a man
The 3M stuff is actually only available as pre-cut kits for leading edges. What I was looking at some time ago, is full panel wraps "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

Phew I knew someone would know where to get it. I'd heard more about the stuff the lads in Africa use to protect from the thorns etc. Clear vinyl wrapping also does the job, any van graphics crowd should be able to supply that.
Let us know how you get on with 90's 3M contact A happy childhood ... is the worst possible preparation for life.
