EPB fault booked in at Charles Hurst, Park Royal - FEEDBACK |
|
Popped in today to get a screaming EPB fixed. Bit surprised to hear that they are charging 1.5 hours labour to strip it as "in our experience it is a wear and tear issue and not a fault" - we'll see.
They are also charging £15 a day insurance for the courtesy vehicle.
They will also have a look over it, FREE, to see if anything else needs doing on it!
Will keep you updated - booked in for Wednesday.
RJ

TLO at yeovil dont charge if under warranty, dont charge for a courtesy car or you can wait and enjoy the hospitality
ps, labour rates are cheaper for disco3 members when you tell them as you book it in
or forum member "10forcash" comes to you!

This is if your vehicle is under warranty do not pay. Absolutely sucks that LR are charging people for adjustments to the badly designed Achilles heel of the D3 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

28 pages of the above thread would suggest they got this one wrong I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

As I posted just on the other thread...
If the EPB mechanism is caked in mud, grit etc and fails, then I would see it fair to charge a customer to clean it out. If you're wheels were caked in mud when asking the dealer to change pads or discs, I would also expect the same.
If it goes out of adjustment or fails through normal use between services (where part of the service charge is to cover adjustment), then it should be covered under warranty. Its a failure pure and simple. even out of warranty it should last between services unless it was not done correctly or a part failed
I've only ever had one failure and that in may previous D3. Was happily fixed under warranty by Shukers. But then, that was some time ago before LR decided (apparently) to stop accepting warranty claims. I'm pretty sure Shukers would do the same today as they have very good customer service and believe in maintaining relationships with them.
Any good dealer would of course clean it out FOC and then re-adjust under warranty and claim the cost back from LR.

Joyceslaw, Give our Service Manager Paul King a call on 0208 992 2299. It sounds as if it could be Service Advisor confusion.
Regards,
James

Our customers don't book their cars in using their forum user names, therfore it would be difficult to be sure who they are. But thank you for the advice.
James
PS. Thanks for the defence Martin!

Usually yes, but initials RJ - username Joyceslaw - silver d3 with epb issues - in on this Friday. I'm not Sherlock holmes, but I'm sure your service records would be useful in determining the customer. Or did you have to do so many epb's yesterday that you can't tell......? Bodsys Brake Bible

Well I wouldn't call it sniping, if it were my High value, potentially repeat customer, that's what I'd have done, that's all...... Bodsys Brake Bible
