i did this , very easy as long as you have one of those hand pumps for filling stuff
a strange thing however was when i did mine a good amount of fluid came from the filler plug.
after draining i was left with the same amount that went in without leaking. all was good but unfortunatly it was too late to save ours which went out a couple months after. It was warranted and replaced for free! at 66K miles.
please post your experience, i would like to see if all ZFs drop that initial fluid from the filler plug. (watch out, got a big splash to the face and had to wash out my eyes for a good 15 minutes
good luck!

Along with the instructions posted you probably need to remove the bolt on the transmission support on the middle of the cross member at the rear of the transmission. I couldn't get enough clearance to remove the fluid pan/filter until I did this The fluid pan/filter has a vertical tube which goes up into the gear box so that is why you need to lift the RH side of the motor/trans. 2013 D4, E-diff, Vision pack

If the car has been idle for a period it seems that the oil can drain from the upper gearbox and be well over the filler plug level Don't remove the filler plug first if you are draining the trans. If you are checking the level it must be with the engine running so that the correct amount of oil is in the upper part of the trans. as well as in the pan 2013 D4, E-diff, Vision pack

So it is a good Idea to idle for a while so you change more oil. Or am I wrong? Roel

If you are draining the oil the instructions are to remove filler/level plug THEN the drain plug without the engine running. Removing the filler/level plug first can put oil everywhere as previously posted. Remove the drain plug first 8) Then fill with 3.5 - 4.0 litres of oil. If you have discoloured oil then a double flush is recommended by LR. Do a drain and refill and then run the motor at 1750rpm for three minutes, then do a second drain and refill. Then check the oil level with the engine running 2013 D4, E-diff, Vision pack

I am not sure whether I understand one thing correctly - the oil should be filled up to the level of the filler/level plug while the engine is running? 2013 D4 TDV6 S; Baltic Blue; IID Tool BT
